The folowing assignments are the students responsibility daily and nightly, in addition to their course work:
Every student will keep a nightly reading journal. You are to read nightly, Monday-Friday, for a minimum of 25 minutes and write a response to the literature you have read. In the beginning you may respond with an explanation of the text, but as the year gooes on you will be given new ways to respond to the text, from identifying the main idea to making inferences while you read. After writing your response in your journal, along with the book title, date, and pages read, you also must have a parent/guardian sign it.
In addition to the Reading Journal, you will also be required to complete daily morning work assignments. Each Monday you will be given a Spelling Sheet, Science/S.S. Review Sheet, and daily Grammar review using different student text. The Spelling Sheet and Sci/SS Review sheets are due on Friday.
In addition you are responsible to have your agenda signed by a parent/guardian nightly.
